| 6 | 2012-Jan-26 | This is all so true! I think many of us, at one point or another, have gone through all of these phases. I, for one, have gone the last three. I think some of us go through a phase where we simply fear being overweight, as opposed to the “contemplation” phase where you actually are and need to take action. I never thought about the road toward wellness in phases like this, but it’s very true and a great indicator for those who want to get in shape. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for allowing this test of the United People software. The software is really feature rich, and shows that a lot of thought and effort have gone into its design and implementation.
It worked. We were able to create an issue, offer propositions, discuss and rate those propositions, and then hold a ... continue (jkintree) | new thread id:thr4194 |
| 14 | 2011-Apr-20 | issue: Testing the upworldgov.org software thread: Selected proposition I suggest you look carefully at the charts. The number of raters choosing the same number of stars is placed upon the top of the bar in the chart. The one receiving 11 stars shows two rating of "3" and one rating for "5"; therefore, 2x3=6, and 6+5=11. (Ricardo) | thread answer id:ans4193 |
| 15 | 2011-Apr-20 | issue: Testing the upworldgov.org software thread: Selected proposition Oops, the rating system does not work as I first thought. There were three people who rated each of the two propositions in this issue. The "Ban weapons" proposition received one rating each of 3, 4, and 5 stars for a total of 12 stars. The "Converting to a global peace economy" proposition received two ratings of 3 stars and one rating of 1 star for a total of 11 stars. Interesting. (jkintree) | thread answer id:ans4192 |
| 16 | 2011-Apr-20 | issue: Testing the upworldgov.org software thread: Selected proposition Hmmnm, I thought the purpose of the "accepted suggestions by author" section of a proposition was to merge ideas into that proposition.
With respect to the rating of the propositions, two people rated the "Ban weapons" proposition with three stars, and one person rated the "Converting to a global peace economy" proposition with five stars. It looks like two ratings of three stars is a higher total rating than one rating of five stars.
If that is the way it works, then someone who wanted a certain proposition to become the selected proposition would give that proposition ... continue (jkintree) | thread answer id:ans4191 |
| 17 | 2011-Apr-20 | issue: Testing the upworldgov.org software thread: Selected proposition A proposition can only be edited during the discussion phase by the author following the comments or the suggestions submitted. If someone like to create a new proposition offering the synthesis of all the propositions it is also possible. NO one in the discussion phase proposed any editing or merging of particular propositions. Once the discussion phase is over we cannot edit propositions any more and participants are asked to rate them.

| 18 | 2011-Apr-19 | issue: Testing the upworldgov.org software prop: Ban weapons It is too late to accept changes in the proposition. It had to be done during the discussion phase. I cannot edit the proposition any more once we reach the rating phase. Now it is only a matter of accepting or rejecting the proposition while in the final vote phase. | 19 | 2011-Apr-19 | issue: Testing the upworldgov.org software new thread: Selected proposition How did the "Ban weapons" proposition become the Selected proposition for the Final Vote on this issue? I missed that part of the process. Why was the original proposition "Converting to a global peace economy," or some synthesis of the two propositions, not selected for the Final vote? In addition to other peaceful purposes to which the more than $1 trillion annual global military expenditures can be redirected, part of that money will be used to decommission, dismantle, and recycle existing weapons stockpiles.
Military weapons are distinguished from guns and other devices that are used for hunting.
